Representative-Elect Keenan Announces Constituent Outreach Plans
SALEM - State Representative-Elect John Keenan today announced his initial plan for constituent outreach for the duration of his first term. The plan is focused on maximizing constituent access and input to Rep. Keenan and his staff and will include regular office hours in the district, periodic community town hall meetings, and a new online district office website. At least one afternoon every other week Keenan and his staff will be available to meet with constituents in person in Salem. District hours will be rotated between City Hall, the Council on Aging on Broad Street, and location in the Point neighborhood still to be determined. The specific dates and times for the district office hours will be publicized in the Salem News calendar section and on Keenan's website. Every several months, Keenan and his staff will host a community town hall meeting with citizens, government representatives, and local officials on issues of importance to Salem and the commonwealth. Possible topics for these meetings include issues such as affordable housing, healthcare, and economic growth. The date, time, and location for these meetings will be publicized in the calendar section of the Salem News and on Keenan's website. In the next several weeks the website www.johnkeenan.org will be published. Through this website constituents can read about upcoming hearings, district office hours, and town hall meetings, keep tabs on legislation and committee business of interest, read the latest press releases, submit their opinions on issues directly to Keenan, and find out how they can contact the Representative's office for casework assistance.
