Representative Keenan Looks Forward to Working
SALEM Representative John Keenan reacted with enthusiasm to Tuesdays election of Salems next Mayor, former Ward 5 Councillor Kim Driscoll. Driscoll, who will be sworn in in January, will become Salems first woman mayor and won election on November 8th with nearly 63% of the vote. I look forward to working alongside Mayor-Elect Driscoll in the years ahead to improve our great city, said Representative Keenan, She is an extremely talented, hard working public servant and I think she will be a strong, positive leader for our city. Representative Keenan worked with then Councillor Driscoll in his capacity as the Assistant City Solicitor and City Solicitor prior to being elected State Representative in 2004. Kim was a hard worker on the City Council and fought for her constituents every day on the job, pointed out Representative Keenan, I am certain she will bring that same energetic spirit to the corner office. I had a great working relationship with Mayor Usovicz and I anticipate a similar relationship with Mayor Driscoll, Representative Keenan observed, Our joint constituents deserve no less. Salems future is very bright indeed. Representative Keenan spoke with Driscoll briefly on Tuesday evening after the results were announced to congratulate her. The two plan to sit down in the next few weeks to discuss some of the major state and local issues and projects in Salem that will require close collaboration between City Hall and the Representatives office.
