Issues
BOSTON Representative John Keenan (D-Salem) was named today to a sub-committee of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary that will look at legislation regarding shared parenting matters. The sub-committee of six legislators, which will be chaired by Representative Charles Murphy (D-Burlington), has been tasked with reviewing and reporting on the nearly sixty bills filed for the 184th session of the legislature that pertain to shared parenting issues. The legislation covers such matters as domestic relations, child custody, paternity issues, visitation issues, sibling rights, adoption, guardianship, and restraining orders. I am honored to be named to this sub-committee, said Representative Keenan, a former prosecutor in the Essex County District Attorneys Domestic Violence Unit and father of two, These are important issues that pertain to the rights and safety of our Commonwealths children. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the sub-committee to address these matters fully and evaluate these bills fairly and appropriately.
