Representative Keenan Announces State
Seeking Parole Officers, Firefighters


BOSTON, MA – The Commonwealth’s Human Resources Division is initiating a recruitment campaign for parole officers and firefighters, Representative Keenan announced today.

Individual interested in taking the exam for any of the following positions should contact Representative Keenan’s office at 617-722-2575 in order to request that a Civil Service Examination application and announcement be sent to them.

  • Parole Officer A/B; application deadline: March 27, 2006; examination date: May 6, 2006
  • Transitional Parole Officer; application deadline: March 27, 2006; examination date: May 6, 2006
  • Firefighter, Municipal Service; application deadline: April 24, 2006; examination date: June 10, 2006

These entry-level public safety examinations are two of the most important examinations the Human Resources Division will conduct in the coming months. The lists of approved applicants that result from these examinations will determine the pool of candidates eligible for appointment to the positions of Municipal Civil Service Firefighter and Parole Officer.
